Spend ten days exploring three of Namibia's most popular travel destinations – Sossusvlei, Damaraland and Kaokoveld. This incredible itinerary places a strong focus on the importance of community in various regions of the desertscape. You'll be immersed in enriching cultural experiences, engaging with local communities and gaining a deeper knowledge, understanding and appreciation of the people who make Namibia the amazing country it is.
The first stop on your journey is Little Kulala Lodge, a charming property in the world-famous Sossusvlei region, known for its larger-than-life sand dunes. Here, you'll enjoy a thorough adventure through the desert that involves hiking up dunes, hot-air balloon rides and quad bikes.
You then head off to Damaraland. Damaraland Camp is located in big game country within a private conservancy. This leg of the tour offers a perfect balance of cultural experiences and authentic safari. Your final destination is Kaokoland. The luxurious yet comfortable Serra Cafema Camp is your home for your last few days in Namibia. This remote tented accommodation is the perfect base from which to explore the Marienfluss Conservancy
Upon arrival at Hosea Kutako International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by a local representative who will assist you with your transfer to a light aircraft charter flight bound for Sossusvlei. After a scenic flight over Namibia's breathtaking landscapes, arrive at Little Kulala Lodge, an elegant retreat set within a private reserve in the heart of the Namib Desert. Settle into your luxurious villa and spend the afternoon relaxing while taking in spectacular views of the surrounding dunes before enjoying a delicious dinner and your first evening beneath the desert's star-filled skies.
Rise early for an unforgettable excursion into Namib-Naukluft National Park, where you will explore the iconic red sand dunes of Sossusvlei, including the famous Dune 45 and Big Daddy. Take in the surreal beauty of the surrounding desert landscapes before returning to the lodge for lunch and some time to unwind. Later, choose from a range of activities such as a guided nature walk, a 4×4 nature drive through the private reserve, or an exciting quad biking adventure before returning to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Begin the day with the option of a breathtaking sunrise hot-air balloon flight over the Namib Desert, offering spectacular panoramic views of one of the world's oldest deserts. After breakfast, enjoy additional activities within the private reserve, including guided walks and wildlife viewing, or simply relax at the lodge while soaking up the tranquil surroundings. End the day with another stunning desert sunset followed by dinner and your final overnight stay at Little Kulala Lodge.
After breakfast, depart Little Kulala Lodge by charter flight to Damaraland Camp, located in the Torra Conservancy overlooking the Huab River Valley with magnificent views of the Brandberg Mountains. Upon arrival, settle into your comfortable tented accommodation before heading out on an afternoon game drive in search of the region's remarkable desert-adapted wildlife, including elephants, gemsbok, springbok, ostriches, and, if fortune smiles, black rhinos and lions. Return to camp for dinner and an evening around the campfire.
Enjoy an early morning game drive or guided nature walk to learn more about the fascinating flora and fauna of Damaraland before returning to camp for breakfast. Later, visit the nearby communities of Fonteine Pos and De Riet to meet local residents and gain insight into the traditions and livelihoods of the Torra Conservancy. Continue to the Damara Living Museum near Twyfelfontein for an immersive experience of traditional Damara culture before returning to camp for dinner and overnight.
Spend the day discovering more of Damaraland's dramatic landscapes through a choice of guided nature walks, mountain biking, or another game drive across the conservancy. You may also visit the small settlement of Bergsig to spend time at Jakob Basson Combined School, offering a meaningful opportunity to engage with the local community. Return to camp in the afternoon to relax before enjoying your final dinner and overnight stay in Damaraland.
Today is dedicated to discovering the extraordinary landscapes of Kaokoland. Set out on a guided game drive or quad biking excursion through the Hartmann Valley in search of desert-adapted wildlife such as scimitar-horned oryx, Cape foxes, horned adders, and a variety of bird species. In the late afternoon, enjoy a peaceful sunset boat cruise along the Kunene River, where the lush riverbanks create a striking contrast to the surrounding desert scenery, before returning to camp for dinner.
Embark on a full-day cultural excursion with your private guide and vehicle into the Marienfluss region. Visit a traditional Himba village to experience the customs and daily lives of one of Africa's last semi-nomadic peoples before continuing to the Marienfluss School, the donor-funded clinic, and the Marienfluss Conservancy headquarters. Learn about the community's conservation initiatives and sustainable development projects before returning to Serra Cafema Camp for a farewell dinner and your final night in Namibia.
Enjoy one last breakfast overlooking the tranquil Kunene River before transferring by 4×4 to the nearby airstrip for your charter flight back to Hosea Kutako International Airport. Upon arrival, connect with your onward international flight home, bringing your unforgettable 10-day Namibian safari adventure to a close, filled with remarkable wildlife encounters, dramatic desert landscapes, and enriching cultural experiences.
